About Digital Printing
Digital Printing is a modern technology that digitizes the printing process, printing digital files directly on different media. Digital printing is widely used, it can be printing on different materials, such as paper, fabric, metal, etc.. This technology has brought a great impact on the printing industry. It has mixed with offset printing technology for production in the past 10 years already.
In the printing industry, digital printing equipment mainly use laser or inkjet printers. Compared with offset printing technology, digital printing does not require any printing plate, it save time and resources on printing plate output and printing plate changing, reduce costs, achieve ‘Print On Demand’, reduce unnecessary waste. In addition, after the printing process digitized, the production cycle will be greatly shortened, and the products will be completed in a short time to meet the marketing needs. Furthermore, it implements a ‘Variable data printing’ method that prints text is no longer fixed, like recipient information on invitation cards, variation information on direct mail advertisements, barcodes on labels, etc.. The above points are subverted the traditional offset printing production methods.
However, due to the advantages of digital printing, the disadvantages of offset printing are compensated, we can mixed them on production: booklet offset printing, plus individual QR code digital printing; or banking DM advertisements offset printing, plus different recipient information, etc..
