About Offset Printing
In planographic printing, offset printing is a kind of technique of it, and using extensively in nowadays. It composed of ink rollers, water rollers, plate cylinder, offset cylinder and impression cylinder mainly.
Water and ink from water rollers and ink rollers, transferred to the printing plate on plate cylinder, and the rubber blanket on offset cylinder. Printing stock come through the offset cylinder and impression cylinder, graphic arise. After different post-processing, a printed matter was born.
Based on repulsion of oil and water, offset printing technique match up to printing plate lithographic process, ink and water transferred to printing area and non-printing area, reach to the result identically with artwork file. Its printing outcomes fine and bright, shorter printing period and suitable for mass production are its superiorities. We usually using on paper products printing, like booklets, brochures, packaging boxes, business cards, calendar etc…
Along with global environmental and sustainability development tendency, a new printing technique “Waterless printing” appeared from few years ago. To compare with offset printing, it saves lots of water and volatile organic compound during production. But, to replace of offset printing technique, it may takes many years.
